Biography

I am a lighting designer and theatrical technician with over 30 years of professional experience. Currently I am a member the faculty of the UMKC Conservatory - Department of Theatre, where I teach Lighting Technology, Projection Design, and Vectorworks CAD drafting.

Prior to joining the UMKC faculty, I spent 16 years serving as Resident Lighting Designer and Production Coordinator at the American Heartland Theatre, a position that I held from 1997 until the theatre closed its doors in 2013.

I've worked professionally as a freelance designer since 1990. My work has been seen in productions by the Unicorn Theatre, the Missouri Rep, First Stage Milwaukee, The Coterie Theatre, Theatre at KU, Musical Theater Heritage, the Metropolitan Ensemble Theatre, Spinning Tree Theatre, Owen/Cox Dance Group, The Living Room, the Kansas City Actors Theatre, and others. While serving on the UMKC faculty, I continue to do freelance lighting and projection design work.
